Our Priority. The care and safety of our patients, staff, and communities is Northern Counties Health Care’s (NCHC’s) top priority. NCHC is fully open for business, including all primary care, dental, and home health and hospice services.
Protect Yourself. Take these everyday preventative actions to help stop the spread of germs. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home when you are sick. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Call Your Primary Care Provider if You Believe You are at Risk for COVID-19, the Novel Coronavirus. NCHC’s goal is to quickly identify patients that may have COVID-19 while keeping them away from our clinics to prevent transmission of COVID-19 to vulnerable patients and our staff. NCHC will screen patients to determine if they meet the criteria for COVID-19 testing set by the Vermont Department of Health. Ultimately, the Vermont Department of Health decides if COVID-19 testing occurs based on their criteria. A team of nurses will arrange the appropriate testing option, either drive-thru testing at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury or NCHC’s COVID-19 Clinic at the St. Johnsbury Community Health Center. Please follow the instructions of our nurses.
Calling First is the Key. Calling first can get you the care you need while protecting other patients and our staff. If you believe you are at risk for COVID-19, please call the health center where you normally receive your care.
