Matt’s professional interests include incorporating nature and music into therapy and supporting patients who are struggling with suicidal ideation. His personal interests include hunting, camping, logging, cross-country skiing, cooking, music, and spending time with his family and dog.
Matt Renaud was born and raised in Hardwick, Vermont. He attended Johnson State College, where he earned a B.A. in Outdoor Education and then a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to joining the Health Center, Matt worked as an advocate for youth affected by domestic and sexual violence, a School Guidance Counselor, and as part of a construction crew building barns around New England. Matt is excited to be part of the Hardwick Area Health Center team and to help give back to the community he grew up in by supporting patients in living more emotionally healthy and balanced lives and by helping to break down the stigma associated with mental health services.
