Sally “Kathryn” Mathieson was born in Southern California, and lived in Oregon and Scotland before discovering Vermont where she has lived for over 23 years. After obtaining a journalism degree from the University of Oregon, she went on to obtain a Master’s degree in creative writing from Goddard College before attending the University of Vermont where she obtained her Master’s degree in psychiatric nursing. While she was working for the Vermont Department of Corrections, Kathryn also obtained a Ph.D in Humanities and Culture with an emphasis on social justice. Kathryn comes to Northern Counties Health Care after having worked in private practice and in community mental health. Kathryn’s passion is working with clients to problem-solve, end suffering and promote peace for the individual. Her personal interests include spending time with her family and dogs, traveling, and writing.
