What would you like to tell us about your profession?
I am a School Nurse (BSN, RN, NCSN) Leader and COVID Coordinator at the St. Johnsbury School. The Health office there is a busy place in a normal year so this year has been especially challenging due to the new COVID restrictions. I have been busy educating our staff and families regarding the extensive health guidance for school attendance. As a School Nurse I collaborate with community partners such as Primary Care Providers, Shippee Family Eye Care, DCF, and the Dental Van out of the Plainfield Health Center.
Why did you decide to serve on our Board of Directors?
I decided to serve on the Board because of my interest in community health. As a longtime resident of the community and a nurse, I am committed to improving access to the health care offered in our community.
What interests or hobbies do you have?
I enjoy reading, gardening, kayaking, horseback riding, and rug hooking.
What advice would you give prospective Board Members?
I would advise new members to not be shy about asking questions. There is a lot to learn, but the board and leadership team are always happy to support your learning.
