What would you like to tell us about your profession?
I am a retired School Nurse but still keep my nursing license current by substitute nursing at the St. Johnsbury school. I enjoy interacting with the students and I also get to see three of my grandchildren who are students there.
During my nursing career I have been a Nursing Supervisor at the local Health Department, have been a Maternal Child Nurse and Visiting Nurse for Caledonia Home Health Care and then was a School Nurse at the St. Johnsbury School for 22 years.
My experience as a nurse in the Northeast Kingdom serving in the community helps to inform my contribution to the NCHC Board of Directors.
Why did you decide to serve on our Board of Directors?
I decided to serve on the Board because of my interest in community health. As a longtime resident of the community and a nurse, I am committed to improving access to the health care offered in our community.
What interests or hobbies do you have?
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my five grandchildren, reading, gardening, kayaking, horseback riding, and rug hooking.
What advice would you give prospective Board Members?
I would advise new members to not be shy about asking questions. There is a lot to learn, but the board and leadership team are always happy to support your learning.
