NCHC’s Compliance Program affirms the organization’s commitment to promoting full compliance with applicable federal and state laws, statutes, and regulations, and Federal and State health care program requirements and standards, consistent with the highest standards of business and professional ethics.
Purpose:
- To maintain and enhance quality of care and demonstrate sincere, ongoing efforts to comply with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations and standards by integrating compliance into our organization in alignment with NCHC’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- To tie compliance to simple yet meaningful values and behaviors.
- To make compliance matter, keep compliance simple, and make compliance stick.
- To encourage a culture of honesty, integrity, and “doing the right thing” and to empower all responsible parties to prevent, detect, respond to, report and resolve conduct that does not conform to applicable laws, regulations, and NCHC standards of conduct and policies.
- To establish clear and sound standards of conduct, auditing and reporting systems, adequate protections, and well- defined and publicized disciplinary measures.
- To establish mechanisms for employees to raise questions and concerns about compliance issues and ensure those concerns are appropriately addressed.
- To respond in a fair, consistent, and equitable manner to all compliance issues without favoritism or fear of retaliation.
- To respond in a fluid manner to new risk areas and changes in regulatory requirements
- It is the policy of NCHC that good faith participation in the compliance program, including the reporting of any suspected noncompliance or other issue, will not result in retaliation against the participant. Individuals shall not be intimidated or retaliated against in response to their good faith adherence to this compliance program.
Complete the following Incident Report Form for all definitive or suspected violations of the Compliance Plan (including the Code of Conduct or Conflict of Interest), Fraud/Waste/Abuse, HIPAA Privacy and Security laws, patient and civil rights laws, and/or deviation from established Security, Confidentiality and Compliance policies and procedures. Please be as accurate and complete as possible.
