What would you like to tell us about your profession?
I am a retired Physical Therapist. I worked for Caledonia Home Health Care & Hospice for many years, and ended up specializing in school based services. I supplemented my skills by getting a MEd in Intensive Special Education and focused on the integration of children with differing abilities in regular education settings.
Why did you decide to serve on our Board of Directors?
I was there at the birth of NCHC and watched it grow into the amazing organization it is today. I also worked for CHHC and Hospice, so know the value of that organization to our community. I value the opportunity to work to sustain and grow this forward thinking organization as it seeks to ensure access to quality, patient centered, affordable health care.
What interests or hobbies do you have?
I love to knit, play Handbells, and spend time with my four grandchildren.
What advice would you give prospective Board Members?
I ask prospective board members to be inquisitive, informed, and open to all perspectives. Be committed to the health and wellbeing of our communities, defining health in the broadest terms possible. Accept challenges as opportunities to further the vision and mission of the organization.
