What would you like to tell us about your profession?
I am a lawyer.
Why did you decide to serve on our Board of Directors?
I work for Vermont Legal Aid representing people with low income community members for free. Most of my work is on housing issues, with our goal being safe, stable, fair housing for all. I have become acutely aware of the connection between housing and health — both individual health and public health.
What interests or hobbies do you have?
I love to run, hike, bike, swim, and ski. I have hiked all the 4,000 foot mountains in New Hampshire.
What advice would you give prospective board members?
There is a lot of information and support available to new board members. There are no dumb questions. At first, it seemed overwhelming to me, but a lot of it is just the basic human relationships and community support issues you surely already care about and think about if you’re coming onto the board. How can we best take care of each other and our community with the resources we have? It’s a good question and a good group to work on it with. Welcome!
