for the
Island Pond Health Center
Island Pond, Vermont We seek an energetic, team-oriented physician to join the clinical staff at our community based health center. This is one of a network of six rural health centers serving the residents of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We are uniquely privileged to offer sliding scale fees for medical, lab, pharmacy and dental services, thus providing affordable care to a vibrant rural community. Our associated hospital practice is based in Newport, Vermont, with a collegial and well-trained medical staff. The area offers outstanding year-round recreational opportunities (including 7 lakes and the best snow east of the Mississippi), affordability and good schools, and is located approximately 2 hours from Burlington and Montreal and 3 hours from Boston. Candidate must be BE/BC and will require licensing in the State of Vermont. Competitive salary and benefits along with Federal and State loan repayment eligibility.

Opportunity to provide a broad range of medical care to all age groups, and to provide supervision and guidance to other staff members. Requires Board Certification in Family Practice, a degree from an accredited school, Vermont license, and willingness to reside in St. Johnsbury or surrounding communities. Area offers rural lifestyle, good education system, affordable housing, and all-season recreational opportunities; 2 hours from Montreal, 3 hours from Boston.

The individual will provide primary care treatment and health education to a wide variety of patients. This is a 24 hour per week position with flexible hours. The individual should be confident in their abilities, able to work independently within their scope of practice, and willing to operate as a team member with the health center staff. In addition, the individual must be a graduate of an accredited NP or PA program, and licensed or able to be licensed in VT. A minimum of one year experience in a similar setting preferred, although new graduates will be considered.
