The health centers are family-centered clinics created to make primary health care and health education readily available to area residents.
They offer complete, coordinated and individualized health care to people of all ages; from babies to great-grandparents. In a sense, the health centers try to fill the role of the old time family doctor.
We have designed our health centers to include the most modern approaches to health care. We provide a one-stop location for many family health needs, including primary medical care, laboratory tests, and a variety of health maintenance programs aimed at the prevention of illness. In Hardwick and Island Pond, we also offer a comprehensive array of dental services. Finally, reduced prices for prescriptions are available for many drugs.
The health center staffs include physicians who are board certified specialists in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Care is also provided by mid-level practitioners (physician assistants and nurse practitioners) who work under written guidelines developed with the supervising physicians at the health centers.
